Our solid structure

There are structures that we can't see, but they're really holding our world together. Lopesan For Good is our invisible architecture, the solid foundation behind every decision, action and project we take. We've been working on this sustainability model for years, putting more than €50 million into renewable energy, so that all the electricity we use now comes from clean sources. We have already reduced our water consumption by 29% by 2023, respecting every resource as an essential part of these invisible foundations.

Through collaboration, education, and continued innovation, we also produce more than 1.67 million tons of fruit on our own farms, which helps to strengthen the local economy and provides authentic products. These values are rooted in our culture, ensuring that every initiative has purpose and impact. This silent structure also looks after our employees and the communities around us, generating social development in balance with the environment. Lopesan For Good is all about the architecture you don't always notice, but which supports our vision of the future: responsible, conscious, and sustainable tourism.

The wing-flapping of a butterfly

Sometimes, small actions can lead to huge changes. Here at the Lopesan Group, we're big believers in the "butterfly effect" – the idea that something small, like a butterfly flapping its wings, can cause huge changes in the long run. So, we came up with the Lopesan For Good strategy.

Every decision we make, no matter how small, has a positive impact on the environment. We've been investing a lot in renewable energy, more than €50 million since 2019. This has allowed us to reach an inspiring milestone: 100% of our electricity now comes from this source.

But we're not stopping there. We're also aiming to cut water consumption by 29% by 2023, making sure we protect every drop as if it were a rare resource. We're also super committed to circularity, and we've managed to cut food waste by 67%, which means we're producing 10.73 tons less CO2 emissions. We're also working hard on reducing our carbon footprint, and we've managed to cut it by 48%.

This butterfly effect extends to our employees, partners and the community we're part of: every small gesture counts, every action adds up and every decision has an impact. Did you know that we produce 1.67 tons of fruit and vegetables from our own harvest? There are up to 64 native varieties among them, which help to strengthen the natural and economic balance of our land. We're proud to offer our guests the best local, fresh and authentic products, and this also helps to drive sustainable development in our community. It's a bit like a delicate first step that then grows into something much bigger.

At the end of the day, Lopesan For Good is all about our little, delicate-looking, but totally game-changing project. You can't build the future with one big move, but with lots of small, thoughtful, and sustainable actions that can actually change the world.

Solcan | Lopesan for Good

There are some seriously powerful forces out there that can keep on shining, lighting up the way, giving life its own life, and making sure we're all well and truly taken care of. One of these forces is the sun, and at the Lopesan Group, we found inspiration in it to create Solcan, a key part of the Lopesan For Good strategy.

Every morning, as the sun comes up over any of our places, we know that the energy reaching our facilities is clean and 100% renewable. Bright, efficient, reliable, and endlessly generous, this is the result of a strong investment of more than €50 million since 2019. This commitment has allowed us to generate some really encouraging figures, like the 89.4 GW of renewable energy we achieved in 2023 alone, which has reduced our energy intensity per room by more than 22.4%.

We're all about sunlight, that energy of the morning that never stops, and other natural energies that have no borders or limits. These allow us to take huge steps towards sustainable tourism, towards tourism with a future.

Decarbonization | Lopesan for Good

Decarbonisation is about a lot more than just reducing emissions. It's not just about numbers and data, it's about cleaning up, discovering, and revealing the light that was hidden behind what was once covered in darkness. Here at Lopesan for Good, we've made this our mission, and we're working hard to make sure that, by 2023, we've kept 13,603 tons of CO2 emissions out of the air. These planes have never been in our sky.

We're 100% committed to renewable electricity, and this has helped us to reduce our carbon footprint by 48%. We've also seen an impressive 91.2% drop in emissions intensity compared to total stays. Every small action contributes to a greater shift in consciousness, where responsibility, awareness, and innovation lead the way toward genuine environmental change. The idea behind these numbers is that clear, clean tourism is also more authentic, and can show its bright spirit without holding back.

Decarbonization means deeply cleansing our way of acting, allowing our true nature to emerge: sustainable, committed, and responsible.

Water | Lopesan for Good

Water is more than just a resource, it's life itself, it's the key to natural balance, and it's the very essence of what we're all about. Here at Lopesan for Good, we really value every drop; we know that each one counts.  Preserving water means preserving culture, tradition, and the silent resilience of natural ecosystems. We think that by reducing the amount of water taken out of the network in Spain by 18% and cutting consumption intensity by 29%, we're creating a cleaner, more conscious and more authentic version of our purpose of viability.

This way, using this great and rare resource makes environmental figures and data better, and also lets us offer a clear, honest, and lively reflection. We make the most of the fact that our places are all pretty similar to show what we're really like: a company that's 100% committed to sustainability and the environment.

Here at Lopesan for Good, we've learned to listen and understand the secret language of water. It always speaks, even if not everyone hears it.

Circularity | Lopesan for Good

The circle is the perfect shape, one that never begins or ends. What's more, all its points are the same distance from the centre, which creates a sense of balance, harmony and beauty. We've made circularity one of the key pillars of Lopesan For Good, inspired by this idea.

This perfection inspires us to reduce, reuse and recycle, giving a renewed and constant meaning to everything we do. So, we've managed to cut food waste by 67%, and also avoid more than 13 tons of emissions thanks to initiatives like Too Good To Go, which is a great way of getting value out of things that would have been wasted.

We also see circularity in our everyday actions, like the 337,400 recycled Nespresso capsules we recovered and reused in 2023 – turning waste into valuable resources. And by investing in KM0 Water, we managed to save 109,452 bottles of water in just one year, which is great for the environment.

Giving back to the planet what it gives us and protecting the resources that sustain our lives: this is circularity for Lopesan for Good.

Biodiversity | Lopesan for Good

A seed is more than just a plant's future - it's a story, a legacy that goes way back. Here at Lopesan For Good, we see biodiversity as that valuable legacy of seeds that we protect and carefully cultivate on more than 80 hectares of crops. These crops yield a whopping 1.67 tons of homegrown fruits and vegetables each year. In Veneguera, each of the 64 types of native fruit we grow is like a time capsule in our hands, showing the living and diverse history of the Canary Islands.

Each harvest reflects intention, care, and the profound connection between people and place. 85% of this production arrives directly at our hotels, allowing our guests not only to enjoy the authentic flavor of our land, but also to participate in the protection of a wild and unique natural heritage.

We can create a living mosaic by cultivating biodiversity, where every fruit, vegetable and action integrates into a complete and harmonious image that speaks directly to the hearts of those who visit us. That speaks directly to you.

The future has its own language, a grammar that we must write with responsibility and commitment. At the Lopesan Group, we realised pretty quickly that to get to grips with this language, we needed clear, solid and consistent rules. Our certification module works like this grammar, which is based on an Integrated Management System that clearly defines our internal standards for quality, occupational risk prevention, environmental care, and energy efficiency.

External certifications act as essential, internationally validated words that confirm that we have mastered this type of universal communication that speaks of respect.
